Air compressor maintenance

Nearly every emergency compressor call we take was preventable. Maintenance is the difference between a scheduled two-hour visit and an unscheduled two-day shutdown.

Well-maintained compressed air equipment and distribution piping in a clean industrial facility

Overview

Air Compressor Maintenance

We service compressors on an interval built around your actual run hours, duty cycle and environment. A unit running two shifts in a dusty plant does not need the same schedule as one running intermittently in a clean shop.

Every visit is documented, so you know what was changed, what was measured and what is trending toward a problem before it becomes one.

On a maintenance visit

  • Lubricant and separator. Oil change, separator element, oil filter and sample condition check.
  • Filtration. Inlet air filter, coalescing and particulate elements, differential pressure recorded.
  • Cooling. Cooler cleaning, thermostatic valve check, discharge temperature logged.
  • Air treatment. Dryer performance verified, dew point checked, drains tested and cleared.
  • Mechanical. Belts, couplings, mounts, fasteners, leak check around the package.
  • Reporting. Hours, pressures, temperatures and any developing issues written down and handed over.

Leak surveys

The cheapest air is the air you stop losing

Leaks are the single largest avoidable cost in most compressed air systems, and they get worse quietly.

As part of maintenance we walk the distribution system (fittings, drops, quick-connects, hose whips, regulators and dead legs) and tag what is leaking so it can be fixed while we are already on site.

Technician working on industrial equipment during an after-hours emergency call

24/7 emergency service

When it fails at 2am, you still get a technician

Breakdowns do not respect business hours. Our emergency line runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You reach someone who can diagnose the problem and dispatch a technician.

Questions

About air compressor maintenance

What interval should we be on?

It depends on run hours, ambient temperature, dust loading and the lubricant type. We set the interval from your actual conditions and adjust it as we see how the unit behaves. A generic annual schedule is usually either wasting money or missing failures.

Do we have to sign an agreement?

No. You can book maintenance visit by visit. A preventive maintenance agreement gets you scheduled visits and priority emergency response, but it is not a requirement for service.

Will you service equipment you did not install?

Yes, on every major brand. We will document the condition we find it in on the first visit so there is a clear baseline.

Can you maintain the dryer and drains too?

Yes, and you should. Most water-in-the-line complaints trace back to a failed drain or an undersized dryer. Air treatment is part of every maintenance visit we do.

Most of our customers started with one of these and consolidated the rest. Fewer vendors, fewer handoffs, one number when something breaks.
