Grading is the foundation under everything else on your property. Get it right and your foundation stays dry, your yard drains after a storm, and your driveway holds its shape for years. Get it wrong and you'll be paying someone to fix it — usually after the damage is done.
Jeff has spent more than 40 years grading residential properties across the Upstate, and he grades for the conditions we actually have here: red clay that sheds water, steep lots, and summer storms that dump inches of rain in an afternoon.
What we grade
- Building pads — scraped, leveled, and compacted pads ready for your builder, garage, barn, or shop.
- Yard leveling & re-grades — smooth out rough, lumpy, or washed-out ground into a yard you can actually mow and use.
- Backfills — around new foundations, walls, and utility trenches, filled and compacted properly.
- Final grades — the finished surface, sloped to drain and ready for seed or sod.
- Drainage-smart slopes — positive grade away from the house, with swales where the water needs a path.
Why proper grading matters
Most wet basements, cracked slabs, and washed-out driveways in the Upstate trace back to one thing: ground that slopes the wrong way. Water that should shed away from the house instead sits against the foundation or carves gullies through the yard.
A proper grade fixes that at the source. It's far cheaper to move dirt once than to fight water every spring.
How it works
- Free site analysis — Jeff walks the property with you and gives you an honest read on what it needs.
- Clear quote — you'll know the scope and the price before any machine shows up.
- The work — Jeff runs the equipment himself, start to finish.
- Follow-up — after the next good rain, we make sure the grade is doing its job.
