What each check-up covers

  • Detailed safety inspection, twice per year
  • Inspection of coils and/or heat exchanger
  • Testing and inspection of electrical components
  • Capacitor testing (if present)
  • Motor operation testing
  • Condensate drain check

Coil cleaning and any replacement parts or repairs beyond the inspection are quoted separately — with the member discount applied.

Why it matters

HVAC equipment rarely dies without warning — it telegraphs. A capacitor reads weak months before it strands the compressor. A condensate drain slows down before it overflows into the ceiling. Each spring, pine pollen films over every condenser coil in the Upstate, and a fouled coil makes the system work harder, run longer, and cost more on every electric bill until someone cleans it.

Twice-a-year inspections exist to catch exactly those things while they're cheap. The spring visit readies the system for cooling season; the fall visit checks the heat side — including the heat exchanger, which is a safety inspection, not just a performance one. Manufacturers also expect documented maintenance to keep warranties intact, so the plan protects the paperwork as much as the equipment.

Procedure

How membership works

  1. Enroll

Call the office or send a request with how many systems you have. Plans start at $199 a year for one system.

  2. Spring cooling check-up

Before the heat arrives: coils, refrigerant-side performance, capacitors, motors, and the condensate drain that summer humidity will test.

  3. Fall heating check-up

Before the first cold snap: heat exchanger or heat-strip inspection, electrical testing, and a full heating cycle run.

  4. Priority all year

If anything breaks in between, you call, you go to the front of the line, and you pay member rates — 24/7, 365 days a year.
